Intermediate to Advanced Drupal Developer
Incendia Media is looking for an experienced Drupal developer to manage the development of several ongoing client projects. We may want to start out on a contract basis then ramping up to 30-40hrs/week. This is a telecommute only position (we don't have an office!) so you can work in your underwear. Drupal Programming Assistant
Incendia Media is looking for a part-time (10 - 20 hours/week) Drupal programming assistant. You will work closely with the Incendia Media programming team to complete new and ongoing client needs. This will be a creative, interesting and ever changing position where you will learn many aspects of Drupal development.
Responsibilities
Drupal / Programming Skills
- Strong experience in creating Drupal modules and everything that comes along with that (Form API, menu system, hook system etc)
- Expert at creating Views
- Well versed in using SVN or CVS
- Strong SQL abilities
- Experience in setting up all aspects of a Drupal site, including eCommerce.
Additional Beneficial Skills:
- Experience with Aegir
- Drupal theming experience
- Experience using linux, Amazon EC2
- Performance optimization experience, including mysql query optimization
- Experience with the Context, Panels and Features modules
- Strong javascript skills
Overall Personal Skills
- Strong computer skills
- Strong English writing skills with, near fluent English preferred
- Ability to learn new software and systems quickly
- Ability to work independently with little supervision

Designers
Run of the mill Web 2.0 designers need not apply. We're already over it. Seriously though, we want designers that are passionate about design and usability and are creative and brave enough to work on some seriously cool web development and design projects. You'll need to have a great porftolio and experience with Adobe Photoshop and/or Macromedia Fireworks. Flash experience is nice but not required.
Programmers
Incendia Media needs programmers that speak PHP fluently. You don't need to be an elite guru (we already have one of those) but you need to have a good grasp of how PHP works and have some development experience. So here is a lineup of some things we would like you to know:
- PHP 4/5
- MySQL / SQL
- Javascript / AJAX
- HTML/XHTML
- Rudimentary CSS
- Java (servlet programming and experience with MVC frameworks) would be nice
- Experience with Drupal and the Drupal API
- Knowledge or experience with source control systems (SVN or CVS)
Entry level and experienced developers are welcome to apply.
Flex / AIR Developers
Specifically, We're talking Flex 3 and Flex Builder (or if you have an alternative build framework, that's cool too) Some things we'd like you to know:
- MVC / Cairngorm
- OOP Principles
- Good understanding of the Flex 2/3 API (and the upcoming 4)
- SVN
- Best practices software development
- Remoting (AMFPHP, RPC, XMLRPC, etc)
- Data feed consumption (RSS/XML)
- External APIs and libs such as OpenFlux, Degrafa and Gmaps
Layout Developers
Ok, really what we need here are people who can write CSS and XHTML in their sleep. Do you code pure CSS layouts? Can you make browsers bend to your will? To be considered for this position, here are some essential skills you will require:
- Exceptional CSS
- Exceptional HTML/XHTML
- Basic Photoshop and/or Macromedia Fireworks Skills (for image slicing and export)
- Basic PHP
- Javascript / AJAX knowledge
System Administrators
To be considered for a system administrator position with Incendia, you need to either have the following skills or be able to learn them in a hurry.
- Expert knowledge of Linux, preferably in a Redhat / Fedora / RHEL / CentOS background
- Experience with high volume apache web server configurations
- Basic knowledge of routing including OSPF and BGP
- Experience with MySQL 4/5 including high volume MySQL configurations, the ability to perform basic SQL commands, ability to import / export database schemas, MySQL replication and fault tolerance,
- Shell scripting with bash and PHP, ability to write and compile basic programs in C
- Strong knowledge of IPTABLES firewalls and rule construction
- Ability to construct and implement a backup program for a server farm running multiple, custom versions of LAMP.
- Web server replication (rsync, mysql, cron, etc)
- Experience with qmail, vpopmail, djbdns
One critical skill Incendia Media looks for in all of our employees is accountability and the ability to ASK QUESTIONS and TAKE NOTES. If you are a rogue that likes to work on your own and figure things out for yourself, then don't apply here. Incendia Media employees have a wealth of experience and we're willing to train the right people as long as you know how to ask questions and learn from us.

We're looking for people from all walks of life to write for us. Some requirements or suggestions we look for in our writers are:
- Above average writing and communication skills
- Strong command of the English language
- Ability to perform research, use citations and quote sources
- A College or University degree or an equivalent combination of life experience and track record
- Proof that you can write well
- Have a unique life perspective
- Have passion
- Basic Interview skills and ability to conduct article interviews over the phone and/or in person
- Ability to work on your own for the most part and be a self starter
You don't have to fit into every single category, so feel free to apply even if you don't meet all of these requirements. Not all of our writers need to conduct interviews or have a degree.
