Vitrue's Top 100 Social Brands of 2008

This corporate blog (http://vitrue.com/blog/2009/01/29/the-vitrue-100-top-social-brands-of-2008/) is an analysis of which brands or branded products are most often mentioned in social media.  Vitrue launched a social-media index last year that measures the conversation volume around 2,000 brands on a variety of social-networking, blogging and micro-blogging sites. This survey only measures "mentions", not whether or not these mentions are positive or negative.  The survey was taken in December 2008.

Of Interest:  Starbucks was #6; Target was #14; NBA was #29; Walmart was #34; NFL was #35; Nike was #39; NASCAR was #53; REI was #59; MLB was #79; Adidas was #75; The Gap was #89; Converse was #97; Puma was #99;

Omissions:  Kraft; NHL; DirecTV; Eddie Bauer; Nestle; Reebok; No other Coffee Companies; No Other Outdoor Sporting Goods Company;
